Full name is Richard Peter Stanislav Krajicek...Began playing tennis at age four...Won the 12-under and 14-under National Championships twice...Son of Czech immigrants...At age 12, decided to switch from a two-handed backhand to a one-handed backhand...Coached by Australian Rohan Goetzke, whole career since juniors…Goetzke now technical director of the Dutch Tennis Federation...Favorite food is typical Dutch "stampot" with bacon along with Japanese...Established the Richard Krajicek Foundation in July 1993 with the goal of making sports accessible to underprivileged youth with a special focus on soccer and tennis...In June 1998, opened a playground in The Hague where children can play tennis, soccer and basketball...He is heavily involved with his Foundation constructing playgrounds and introducing athletics to underprivileged youth in The Netherlands...Earned ATP's Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of Year award in 2000...Participated in Nelson Mandela Tribute in Cape Town, South Africa in December 1997 and defeated Boris Becker in final (all proceeds went to the president's children's fund)...Has a 7-8 career Davis Cup record in nine ties...Wife, Daphne Deckers (married July 7, 1999) played a part in the James Bond movie "Tomorrow Never Dies" in 1997...The couple have one daughter, Emma (born Mar. 26, 1998) and one son, Alec (born May 2, 2000)...In September 1999, Nike dedicated its new European headquarters in Hilversum and the Dutchman was one of four athletes to have an office building named after him...In February 1999, as part of celebration for Royal Dutch Tennis Association centenary, the Dutch Postal system released a stamp featuring the '96 Wimbledon champion..."This is a big honor for me," he said...In retirement, has worked in finance and has been director of ABN Amro World Tennis tournament in Rotterdam since 2004...Plays occasional senior tennis...After Wimbledon, visits his favourite tournament once a year to play on grass courts.
