Sampras in QF, Enqvist in SF, Grosjean in final)...During North American summer hard court circuit, reached QF at TMS Cincinnati (l. to Sampras)...Did not drop a set en route to QF at US Open before losing in a fifth-set tie break to Kafelnikov on Sept. 8...In that match, fired an all-time record of 49 aces and was broken only once in 26 service games...During European indoor circuit, reached SF in Vienna and final at TMS Stuttgart (d.
