He had an outstanding junior career, winning the Wimbledon, U.S. Open
and Aust. Open Juniors in 1984. He also was runner-up at the French Open Jr.
l. Becker) before beating him for the U.S. title. He teamed with Simon Youl
capture the doubles crowns at the French, Wimbledon and U.S. Juniors in 1983.
A product of the Australian Institute of Sport which takes promising
players to a tennis center in Sydney under the supervision of Tony Roche,
John Newcombe and others.
One of the game's top doubles players, having compiled a 5-4 career mark
in finals through March 1989. Teamed with Darren Cahill to reach the 1989
Aust. Open final before losing to defending champions Rick Leach and Jim Pugh

He was sidelined for four months in 1988 by a shoulder injury in which
the tendon in his shoulder joint had worn away.

injury, but still ranked No. 150 on the ATP computer, his second best finish
(142 in 1986).
