Earned economics degree at Stanford University where he was a three-time doubles (1984-86) and two-time singles (1985-86) All-America...Reached SF at 1985 NCAA event...Won 1986 ITCA Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award (exemplifying competitive excellence, sportsmanship and contribution to the game)...Vice President of ATP Tour Player Council and doubles representative in 1998-99.

1998 -- The oldest player (34) to finish in Top 100 ATP Tour doubles rankings teamed with Martin Damm most of year, winning two titles (played with Damm once prior to '98)...In second career appearance together reached Antwerp SF and followed with London-indoor title (d. Kafelnikov-Vacek)...Played with a variety of partners through next three months, winning St. P÷lten (w/Macpherson) and reaching Stuttgart-outdoor final (w/Eagle)...Rejoined Damm in Los Angeles and reached SF, then followed with Mercedes Super 9 title in Toronto (d. E. Ferreira-Leach)...Also advanced to U.S. Open QF...Finished No. 12 in Team Rankings (w/Damm) and No. 15 individually, his fifth straight Top 40 ranking...Sixth among active players with 23 career titles...Failed to win a Tour singles match for the first time since 1984.

1997 -- Reached lone final in Basel (w/Braasch) and SF in three other events, including Wimbledon and U.S. Open (w/W. Black).

1996 -- Won doubles in Indianapolis and Lyon(w/Reneberg).

1995 -- Won three doubles titles.

1994 -- Won Hong Kong (w/Steven).

1993 -- Won Philadelphia doubles (w/Reneberg) but missed nearly nine months with shoulder injury.

1992 -- Won six doubles titles and ranked No. 1 in doubles for five weeks...Won U.S. Open (w/Reneberg) and singles title in Taipei...Qualified for World Doubles Championship (w/Reneberg) and finished as No. 2 team.

1991 -- Won doubles in Sydney and Tokyo (w/Reneberg).

1990 -- Singles finalist in Washington...Won London-indoor doubles, reached two finals and SF at French Open (all w/P. McEnroe).

1989 -- Won French Open doubles and year-end Masters (w/P. McEnroe).

1987 --  Beat Agassi in Seoul for first career title.
